Emmanuel Ayanjoke, PharmD, MBA

 


Dr. Emmanuel (Manny) Ayanjoke, R.Ph, PharmD, MBA is the proud owner of Altev Community Pharmacy in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of University of Toledo College of Pharmacy, Dr. Manny has spent over 5 years serving various communities as a dedicated pharmacist. Before opening Altev, he worked at Ziks Family Pharmacy, honing his skills, and understanding the vital role of pharmacists in community health. His work as a clinical pharmacist at Ziks had notable success and he was featured as a keynote panelist at the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) 2022 conference. Alongside his clinical role at ZIKS Family Pharmacy, Dr Manny completed a fellowship in pain management and palliative care fellow at Cedarville University where he engaged in teaching, research, patient care, as well as creation of innovative ways to advance pharmacy practice.

Jeffrey A. Bates, BS  Pharm, PharmD, FMPA 


In April 2021, Dr. Jeffrey Bates was appointed Dean of Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy after serving as Associate Dean for five years.  He works tirelessly with the School’s executive committee to see that the School aligns students’ God-given passions with their God-given abilities ensuring they become exceptional Kingdom ambassadors, ministering, and adorning the Gospel through the profession of pharmacy.  Nearly 30 years after graduating from Pharmacy school, Dr. Bates’ career has centered on pouring into more than 2,300 Pharmacists, modeling excellent care, and striving to exceed expectations. In the years prior to joining Cedarville, Dr. Bates served at Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy as Assistant Dean and Director of Student Success.  While at Ferris, he founded the Ferris Pharmacy Care Clinic in 2013.  Located inside Ferris College of Pharmacy, students continue to regularly hone their clinical skills, assuring comprehensive care to underserved patients in and around Mecosta County.  Further, he shared clinical responsibilities in an Interdisciplinary Diabetes Clinic, facilitating experiential and inter-professional learning for pharmacy, optometry, and nursing students. Dr. Bates is privileged to have been an invited lecturer many times on both state and national platforms.  Dr. Bates has helped lead several non-profit organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Pharmacists Association, Hope House Free Medical Clinic, Cran Hill Ministries, and the Christian Pharmacy Fellowship International.  He has served as a deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville as well as led committees in the American Academy of Colleges of Pharmacy and at the Michigan Pharmacist’s Association.  He is currently actively involved in the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International Board of Directors and chairs its Educational Affairs Committee. He and his wife Sheryl are originally from the west-central Michigan area but are now privileged to call Cedarville, Ohio home.  They have three children and are strong advocates for, and supporters of, foster care and adoption

Dawn Battise, PharmD, BCACP

Dawn Battise, PharmD, BCACP is an Associate Professor at Wingate University School of Pharmacy near Charlotte, NC. She enjoys teaching skills lab, chronic disease state management courses, and pharmacology for physical therapists. She had the privilege of serving patients in the family medicine setting for ten years before embarking on a new path as Director of WUSOP Pharmacy Skills Lab. She joined CPFI as a student at Campbell University and has enjoyed fellowshipping with other Christians who happen to be pharmacists ever since that time! Currently, she is co-advisor to the Wingate University student chapter and serves as Secretary on the Executive Board. You can often find her playing outside with her husband and two sons. 

Jill Martin Boone, PharmD, FASHP, FNAP, FFIP   

 

Jill Martin Boone is Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Director of Interprofessional Education and Interim Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences at the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. Her practice interest is the management of chronic pain in ambulatory setting as well as practice-based outcomes research.  Prior to her current role, Dr. Boone had an ambulatory practice in transplantation, served as the Director of Transplant Outcomes at the University Hospital, and practiced in the inpatient setting as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the areas of transplant, surgery, and pain management. She received her BS and PharmD at the University of Kentucky and completed a Health Outcomes Fellowship at University of Cincinnati. She has been active on many local, state, national, and international committees addressing pharmacy, quality, and outcomes issues.  She has been recognized for sustained contributions to hospital pharmacy practice with the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists Walter A. Frazier Award and inducted into the Pharmacy National Academies of Practice, is a Fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  Dr. Boone is Past President of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Past Co-Chair of the International Pharmaceutical Federation Working Group on Collaborative Practice, and currently serves on the Board of the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International and as FIP Work Development Hub Director and Lead for Interprofessional Education.

Michael A. Crouch, PharmD, MBA, FASHP

Dr. Crouch is the Fred E. McWhorter Dean and Professor of Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy. His education and training include a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina and a first-year pharmacy residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He also earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he stayed to complete a cardiovascular summer research fellowship and a second-year residency focused on cardiology. Crouch later earned his Master of Business Administration from Samford University’s Brock School of Business. He joined Samford University as Dean and Professor in 2014. Earlier faculty appointments included Virginia Commonwealth University, South University, and East Tennessee State University. In addition to being a licensed pharmacist since 1992, he obtained board certification in pharmacotherapy in 1996, with added qualifications in cardiology in 2000. The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists named him a fellow in 2009. In addition to over one hundred scholarly publications and two hundred invited presentations, Crouch has edited two books: Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy: A Point-of-Care Guide and Securing and Excelling in a Pharmacy Residency. He serves on the boards of the Paraguay Baptist Medical Center Foundation, the Tuscaloosa Research and Education Advancement Corporation, Albert Schweitzer of Alabama, and the Alabama Statewide AHEC Council

Fred M. Eckel, BS, MS, SCD (Hon)

 

Fred Eckel is Executive Director Emeritus of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Fred grew up in Philadelphia where he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.  He earned his MS degree and residency in hospital pharmacy from The Ohio State University School of Pharmacy and Hospitals. He received an honorary doctor of science degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in May 2009.  Fred is a pharmacist by choice, commitment, and concern.  During his lengthy career, he has worked in community and hospital pharmacy settings.  He served as Director of Pharmacy at the UNC Hospitals from 1968 to 1975.  Fred is a past president of ASHP, NCSHP, and the North Carolina Center for Pharmaceutical Care. Fred is Editor Emeritus of Pharmacy Times and has contributed over 250 articles and editorials to the pharmacy literature.  He is a frequent speaker at pharmacy meetings, having spoken in every U.S. state and on all inhabited continents. Fred’s wife, Peggy, is a nurse; his daughter, Sarah, and son, Stephen, practice pharmacy.  Fred’s faith is important to him. Fred is considered a pharmacy futurist. You may not agree with him, but he will make you think.  Be prepared to be challenged, stimulated, and quickened.

Jessica Tegan Langdon, MBA, PharmD,  BCPS, NCTTP

Dr. Jessica Tegan Langdon is a clinical pharmacist practicing at the Internal Medicine/Department of Medicine Clinic since 2020 and previously at the Robinson Health Clinic starting in 2016, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  She earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree and a Masters degree in Business Administration from South University.  Upon graduation, she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency program at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was the first CPFI NSC National Student Retreat Coordinator and upon graduation has been a member of the CPFI Annual Meeting Committee. She has been the co-chair of the CPFI Student Chapter Advisory Committee since 2016.  She also volunteers as the administrative support team member for her Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child area team since 2019. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on adventures in new areas, and working on various arts/crafts.

Emily Laswell, PharmD, BCPS 

Dr. Emily Laswell completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Ohio Northern University in May 2012. Following her graduation, Dr. Laswell completed a post-graduate pharmacy practice residency at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. During her residency, she also obtained a teaching certificate from the Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University. Dr. Laswell is currently an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Cedarville University and practices at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she works with an internal medicine team focusing on the care of patients with stroke and neurologic diseases. In addition to her clinical practice site, Dr. Laswell is currently serving as Faculty President, as well as coordinator for Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) for the School of Pharmacy at Cedarville University.  

 Teri A. Miller, BS Pharm, DASPL II Candidate  

  

Teri Miller is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. She has over 27 years of pharmacy practice experience, is licensed in nine states, and is a Class II Diplomat Candidate in the American Society for Pharmacy Law. As a pharmacy educator, she has worked with Creighton University Distance Pathway Students for twenty years. She is instrumental in scheduling introductory pharmacy practice experiences (IPPEs) for the Office of Experiential Education and recently began teaching the Pharmacy Practice Law course. She is the faculty advisor for the Creighton CPFI student chapter and serves as the Licensure Coordinator for the pharmacy school. Teri has served on the Nebraska Pharmacists' Association Legislative Committee for the last 12 years and the Nebraska Board of Pharmacy’s MPJE Review Committee. 

Angela H. Pegram, PharmD, BCPS, CDCES

Angie Pegram is an Associate Professor at Wingate University of Pharmacy.  She is the team lead for the Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy course and precepts third and fourth year students in Internal Medicine at Atrium Cabarrus.   Annually, Angie enjoys a mission trip with fourth year students in the Dominican Republic with Cabarrus Family Medicine.  She has been married 30 years to Wyatt and has a grown son, Tyler and 2 furry St. Bernards.  In her spare time, she loves paper crafting, especially making handmade cards for others.

Lance Plyler, MD

Dr. Lance Plyler received a BS Degree in Physical Therapy and a MD degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado.  He is board certified in internal medicine, and has practiced domestically and internationally for over twenty-five years.  The scope of his medical work has ranged from a private practice in internal medicine, hospital-based medicine, palliative care, and internationally based missionary medicine and disaster response. During his tenure at Samaritan’s Purse, Dr. Plyler first served as the Medical Director for Disaster Relief. He has been involved in many disaster response scenarios, beginning in post-war recovery in Kosovo in 2001. His work has included serving in post-earthquake and cholera responses in Haiti, refugee camp work in South Sudan, post-earthquake response in both Ecuador and Nepal, and field hospital deployments after Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, as well as in Mosul, Iraq in 2017 during the war against ISIS. He was honored corporately with the "Ebola Fighters" as Time Magazine's 2014 Person of the Year.  Most recently he served in Samaritan’s Purse Respiratory Care Unit in Central Park, New York during the COVID-19 crisis. Dr. Plyler has also served as the Director of World Medical Mission, a division of Samaritan’s Purse dedicated to supporting over 50 under-resourced mission hospitals within the developing world. As of January 2022, Dr. Plyler now serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Samaritan’s Purse, and is responsible for ensuring expedient delivery of quality healthcare to all Samaritan’s Purse employees, domestically and internationally based. Dr. Plyler is happily married to his wife Melissa of thirty-three years. They have three children, Jonathan, Grace, and Jack, and two grandchildren, Skylar and Ezra. 

P. Brittiany Vickery, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, CPP

 

Dr. Brittany Vickery is a Christ follower, wife, mother, and pharmacist. She is employed by High Yield Med Reviews as an Associate Editor, Senior Clinical Faculty, and Lecturer. High Yield Med Reviews exists to impact healthcare for good through premier medical education. After graduating from Wingate University School of Pharmacy in 2012, she completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2013. She became Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy in 2014, and Board Certified in Psychiatric Pharmacy in 2016. She serves as a volunteer Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) at The Free Clinic in Hendersonville. Sher is a member of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI). Previously she served as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at Wingate University School of Pharmacy in Hendersonville, North Carolina where she taught didactically and experientially for 9 years.  During that time she maintained an inpatient practice site at Advent Health Hendersonville serving  as a psychiatric, internal medicine, and geriatric specialist while precepting third and fourth year pharmacy students. Dr. Vickery hails from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and currently resides in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She is a member of Calvary Fellowship in Mills River, NC. She enjoys serving in her church’s children’s ministry, reading the Bible and theology books, theology discussions, spending quality time with family, walks with her family and dog, hiking, DIY craft projects, and enjoying the beautiful Western Carolina outdoors.

DEVOTIONAL & WORSHIP LEADERS

Sheryl Bates



Mrs. Sheryl Bates grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, accepting Christ as her Savior at a young age. She grew up in a God-honoring home of educators and musicians.  Since second grade, she has participated in several fine arts opportunities. After high-school, she attended Cornerstone University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Education. Her training and certification have enabled her to teach both elementary and middle school social studies and English. After taking piano lessons, Sheryl taught herself how to play a variety of instruments including acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, and drums. She has sung in a number of choirs, touring in Europe one summer. Using her talents to impact the next generation of worship leaders, she has married her education and music skills, teaching private music lessons since 2006. She also has extensive experience leading worship in churches as well as for CPFI and was previously a member of the David Yonker Band, a Christian-rock band in Michigan. She attends Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, OH with her husband, Jeff. Sheryl currently serves as a worship and small group leader for the middle school youth group.  Further, she has served as a deacon at Grace Baptist as well. She and her husband have three children and one granddaughter… with another granddaughter due in June of 2024.

Joe Boone

Joe currently serves as president of Answers in Genesis (AiG) and has been with the ministry since 2006. With over 1,000 staff, AiG is the parent ministry for the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum biblically based attractions in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. Prior to his experience at AiG, Joe owned and led a fire truck manufacturing company for 17 years where more than 1,000 fire-fighting vehicles were built under his leadership. Joe and his wife Jill (CPFI Board Member) reside in the northern Kentucky area. They have two children and six grandchildren. 

Jeffrey T.   Copeland, BS, ThM,  PharmD



Dr. Jeffrey Copeland is an ordained Baptist Minister, a Registered Pharmacist, and a former United States Army Captain.  His beloved wife, Julie, is a registered dietitian.  Julie and Jeff are the parents of two wonderful boys, Nathan and Matthew.  He holds a bachelor of science degree from Berry College, a doctor of pharmacy degree from Mercer University, and a master of theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.  Jeff is the Assistant Dean of Experiential Programs, Professor in Pharmacy Practice, and the CPFI student chapter advisor at the University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy in San Antonio, Texas. Jeff currently serves as the president of CPFI. 

Joy Greene, PharmD 


Dr. Joy Greene is a native of North Carolina who received her Pharm.D. degree from UNC in 1998. Joy opened and managed two independent pharmacies before joining the Academy. She has helped open three new schools of pharmacy and currently serves as a Professor and the Associate Dean for Experiential Education at High Point University. Joy has been married to her husband, Bryan, for 27 years and they have two children. Joy founded Joytime Ministries in 2012. "Joytime" is a one-minute nationally-syndicated Christian radio feature that airs on ~ 2000 radio stations worldwide. Joy speaks regularly at women's events, and she leads a weekly, online ladies' Bible Study. She is the author of two best-selling books and several journals. Ludmilla P. (Lucy) Malmberg, BS Pharm,  HonDSc., FACA, FACVP

 

Lucy Malmberg is the co-founder, former CEO/board chair and owner of Wedgewood Pharmacy, the largest national specialized pharmacy in veterinary compounding and a leader in the animal health industry. As an entrepreneur and pharmacist she devotes her energy, time, and resources to initiating and supporting philanthropic efforts to enhance the pharmacy profession which includes education in pharmaceutical compounding, financial support of pharmacy students through scholarships and advocacy efforts to protect patients' rights. In her role as founder and board chair of the George and Lucy Malmberg Foundation, she has provided funds for international and domestic humanitarian and medical relief; provided support to the homeless; provided financial support for Christian education for K-12 schools and higher education institutions. She has personally funded and has endowed through her family foundation such organizations and institutions as Samaritan's Purse, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Save A Life International, Wegmans School of Pharmacy, Cedarville University School of Pharmacy, Dayspring Christian Academy and Delaware County Christian School.  She has served as a board member for various institutions and organizations such as University of the Sciences, International Association of Compounding Pharmacists (currently the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding) and the American Red Cross. She currently serves as a board member for Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, serves as advisor on the Wegmans School of Pharmacy -Dean's Advisory Council and is a board member of a privately held pharmaceutical company.  She shares her purpose and calling in life with everyone whom she touches and meets: "My calling in life is to reach many with Christ's love, to help those who are suffering, hurting, hopeless and in need, to help them be able to restore and rebuild their lives and to help them to flourish so they know the grace, goodness and love of God."

Sarah Anderson,  PharmD

 

Dr. Anderson is Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences and Director of Clinical Skills Laboratory at High Point University Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy. Her area of research is focused in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, focusing on learning strategies. Her clinical site is with Caring Partners International, where she also serves on the Advisory Board and attends yearly medical missions trips.

Courtney Jenkins-Lipscomb

Courtney is a fourth year pharmacy student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been deeply involved with CPFI throughout her time in pharmacy school, serving in various leadership roles in her local chapter including Historian, President, and P4 Class Representative. She is currently serving as the CPFI National Student Council's Student Retreat Coordinator.
