Bright, PharmD, MBA, BCACP, FAPhA, FCCP Dr. Bright is Professor of Pharmacy at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy in Big Rapids, MI. He received his PharmD from the University of Toledo and an MBA from Ferris State University. Following completion of a community pharmacy residency with the University of Toledo and Kroger Pharmacy, he taught at Ohio Northern University for five years before joining the faculty at Ferris State University. He has taught in areas of therapeutics and medication therapy management, and he has also directed a community pharmacy residency program. His research has primarily involved implementing and improving non-dispensing pharmacy services in outpatient settings. Fred M. Eckel, BS, MS, SCD (Hon)
Fred Eckel is Executive Director Emeritus of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Fred grew up in Philadelphia where he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He earned his MS degree and residency in hospital pharmacy from The Ohio State University School of Pharmacy and Hospitals. He received an honorary doctor of science degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in May 2009. Fred is a pharmacist by choice, commitment and concern. During his lengthy career, he has worked in community and hospital pharmacy settings. He served as Director of Pharmacy at the UNC Hospitals from 1968 to 1975. Fred is a past president of ASHP, NCSHP, and the North Carolina Center for Pharmaceutical Care. Fred is Editor Emeritus of Pharmacy Times and has contributed over 250 articles and editorials to the pharmacy literature. He is a frequent speaker at pharmacy meetings, having spoken in every U.S. state and on all inhabited continents. Fred’s wife, Peggy, is a nurse; his daughter, Sarah, and son, Stephen, practice pharmacy. Fred’s faith is important to him. He currently serves as the immediate past president of Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International. Fred is considered a pharmacy futurist. You may not agree with him, but he will make you think. Be prepared to be challenged, stimulated, and quickened.
Tracey Frame, PharmD Dr. Tracy Frame is an Associate Professor at Belmont University College of Pharmacy. She graduated from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy and then completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Denver, Colorado. After completing her residency, she worked as a patient care clinical manager with Kroger, Inc., and then started in academia at Cedarville University which ultimately led to her current job at Belmont University. She teaches in the Pathophysiology and Therapeutics series and the Health Assessment course. She maintains a practice site at The Next Door, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving women impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma and/or incarceration. She works with the medical team there which provides medically-monitored detoxification, acute medical care, chronic disease management and educational groups. She loves working with the women there in their road to recovery. Dr. Frame also has a huge passion for missions and is involved in missions both locally and globally in underserved areas. Her areas of research include substance use, women’s health and student wellness and spirituality. Jake Grasser, PharmD
Dr. Jake Grasser, a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is a 2021 PharmD graduate from Cedarville University who currently resides in Dayton, Ohio. He will be getting married to his fiancé Sarah on July 4th , 2021, and then the two of them will depart for missionary school through the medical branch of Samaritan’s Purse, World Medical Mission. Following missionary school, Jake and Sarah will then be spending a year in France learning French, the medical language of West African hospitals. After language studies, Jake and Sarah will be serving in a West African country as a pharmacist and dietitian. They both feel called to be long-term missionaries, and desire above all else that God is magnified, and they are minimized. To Him be all the glory.
Daniel A. Hussar, PhD
Daniel A. Hussar is Dean Emeritus and Remington Professor of Pharmacy Emeritus at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at the University of the Sciences. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees and as Honorary President of the American Pharmacists Association, and is a Past President of the Drug Information Association and the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of World Vision and the Board of Directors of Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International. He is a recipient of the Remington Honor Medal of the American Pharmacists Association and the Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Hussar’s primary interests are in the areas of new drugs, drug interactions, patient safety, and issues facing the profession of pharmacy, and he has written and spoken extensively on these subjects. For many years he has published articles in several professional journals on the new medications that have been marketed in the United States. He serves as the Author/Editor of The Pharmacist Activist monthly newsletter. Kelly W. Jones, PharmD
Kelly W. Jones, Pharm.D., BCPS is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he received both his B.S in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. He also completed a Pharm. D. Fellowship in Family Medicine from MUSC. After graduation he joined the faculty at the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program in Florence, South Carolina and worked with them for 28 years. In 2016, he broke away from academics to help develop a new independent pharmacy located in Florence simply called THE Pharmacy. Who says a teacher can’t practice! In 1993, he was awarded Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and since has renewed that certification three times. In June of this year, the South Carolina Pharmacy Association awarded him Pharmacist of the Year for the State of South Carolina. Dr. Jones was born in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, married to Lisa and has 6 wonderful children Amanda, West, Carol, Mason, Hamilton and Jackson. To these he can add 7 grandchildren; Mae, Kellett, Lily, Sammy, Morgan, Henry and George. He currently resides in Hartsville, South Carolina. His hobbies include family and writing music. Daniel Z. Mansour, PharmD., FASCP, BCGP, AGSFDr. Daniel Mansour completed his doctor of pharmacy at the University Of Maryland School of Pharmacy and his specialized residency training in geriatrics at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has practiced in many settings including hospital, subacute medicine, community, internal medicine, family medicine and consultant pharmacy. He has collaborated with interprofessional teams to meet the medication related needs of older adults. This collaboration has led to an innovative model of care in subacute/long-term care that is being disseminated to over 400 rehabilitation centers. Additionally, he is actively involved in developing community and university-sponsored Medication Therapy Management programs to help older adults age in place. He is advocating for expanding pharmacists’ services and has chaired the Health Information Exchange task force with the Maryland Healthcare Commission and the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP). Clinical research initiatives have focused on improving the care of patients with polypharmacy and dementia which led to publications in the American Journal of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy, the Consultant Pharmacist, Annals of Long-term Care and book chapters in Dementia Care and in Geriatric Practice: A Competency Based Approach to Caring for Older Adults. Currently, Dr. Mansour is the clinical coordinator of the Interprofessional Education and Care in Geriatrics as part of the mission of the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging. He had taught students from the schools and programs of audiology, dentistry, medicine, nursing, doctor of nursing practice, pharmacy, physical therapy, dental hygiene and social work from various schools. He is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in geriatric pharmacy, fellow of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) and is past president of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Maryland Chapter. Jon E. Sprague, RPh, PhD
Dr. Jon E. Sprague is the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Eminent Scholar at Bowling Green State University and the Director of Science and Research for the Ohio Attorney General. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office and BGSU, Dr. Sprague was the University Director of Academic Research and Head of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the College of Pharmacy at Ferris State University. Before joining Ferris State University, he served as Dean and Professor of Pharmacology at the Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University (ONU). Dr. Sprague has also served as Chair and Professor of Pharmacology at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Virginia Tech University. He received his PhD. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Purdue University. He also was on the faculty in the College of Pharmacy at Purdue. His research and teaching interests include the neurobiology of addiction and the pharmacology and toxicology of drugs of abuse. Dr. Sprague has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in these topic areas. Dr. Sprague was also instrumental in writing the synthetic drug laws for the State of Ohio. These laws have focused on the synthetic cathinones, cannabinoids and opioids.
Timothy Ulbrich, MS HSPA, PharmD
Dr. Timothy Ulbrich is a clinical professor of pharmacy and director of the Master’s in Health-System Pharmacy Administration (MS HSPA) program at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University and completed postgraduate residency training at The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Ohio State in 2018, he spent 9 years at Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy where he served in various administrative and faculty roles. He has been involved in various pharmacy organizations including his role as a member of the Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) Board of Trustees, Treasurer of OPA, Chair of the APhA New Practitioner Network, and founding Chair of the OPA New Practitioner Experience. After paying off more than $200,000 in non-mortgage debt, Tim is working to empower pharmacists and pharmacy students to take control of their financial future. Joy Greene is a native of North Carolina who received her Pharm.D. degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. In her pharmacy career, Joy has opened and managed two independent community pharmacies and has been a founding faulty member of three new schools of pharmacy. She currently serves as a Professor and Associate Dean for Experiential Education at the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University in North Carolina. Joy has been married to her husband Bryan for 24 years and they have two children. Joy and her family are members of Green Street Baptist Church in High Point. Joy has a radio/speaking ministry called Joytime Ministries. "Joytime" is a one-minute Christian radio feature that airs on 200 radio stations worldwide and Joy speaks regularly at women's events.
