Norland Avenue Pharmacy (Norland) is a God centered, family-oriented community pharmacy in Chambersburg, PA, focused on utilizing traditional and compounded medicines and natural supplements to protect, improve, and maintain our patients' health. Norland provides personalized attention in solving specific health problems through traditional and innovative pharmacy services and products, customer specific formulated medicines, educational seminars, nutritional supplements, and other superior healthcare products and services.

Norland was established in 2001 and has grown to a staff of approximately 30 employees (which includes 3.5 pharmacists and 10 pharmacy technicians). Norland is currently looking for a self-motivated, innovative, entrepreneurially minded, and faith-centered full time Licensed Pharmacist to join the Norland team.

Job Description:
This role will include split time as a Staff Pharmacist and Compounding Pharmacist. The Staff Pharmacist position involves verifying prescriptions, administering vaccinations, providing patient counseling, inventory management, and leading pharmacy technicians. The Compounding Pharmacist position involves compounding and verifying compounded preparations to ensure acceptable quality, strength, and purity with appropriate packaging and labeling in regards to good pharmacy practices, official standards, and current scientific applications. This is a very exciting and rewarding position for someone willing to fully embrace the challenges and who desires to make a positive difference in the health and wellness of individuals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Verify prescriptions
• Administer vaccinations
• Provide patient counseling and education
• Ensure excellent and caring customer service is consistently provided
• Help maintain inventory to businesses standards.
• Occasionally process and fill prescriptions in the computer system as needed
• Participate in store promotions and events as needed
• Maintain current knowledge of nutritional supplements and other beneficial health products in order to provide quality information to patients
• Perform all the steps in the compounding process
• Inspect and approve or reject all components, drug product containers, closures, in-process material, finished compounds, and labeling.
• Prepare and review all compounding records to make sure that no errors have been made in any part of the compounding process.
• Perform drug searches on specific chemicals in different dosage forms, strengths, bases, and any other components that are similar to meet the physician’s specific needs.
• Discuss with physicians about dosage forms which are available for their particular needs.
• Ensure all chemicals are stored according to the manufacturer’s specifications or the appropriate monographs in the USP/NF.

Desired Qualities:
• Patient focused, with a strong desire to serve and improve the patient's health.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a keen eye for detail is essential.
• Ability to cooperate positively as a team member exhibiting flexibility and open-mindedness.
• Ability to think outside of the normal community pharmacist 'box' and provide innovative ideas to profitably expand the pharmacy’s services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to train to become a compounding pharmacist if experience is limited

Requirements:
• Pharm D or RPh
• Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license
• Immunization License (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Experience in a compounding pharmacy is preferred, but not required
• Candidates for the position will be subject to a standard license and background check
• Normal schedule will require working one Saturday per month as the dispensing pharmacist

Option exists to become a partner in the existing pharmacy, and the pharmacy owner is open to establishing a mentoring/partnering relationship where the junior pharmacist can be developed and trained with the abilities to establish and grow their successful community pharmacy.
